North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership
Idox enables North Yorkshire Building Control deliver service improvements and savings of £1m+ per annum through partnership working.
Operating a scalable shared service model supported by flexible outsourced technology services allows North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership (NYBPC) to revolutionise service delivery, save over £1m of costs annually and meet the challenges of private sector competition.
NYBCP was the first local authority building control partnership in the UK. Initially formed in 2001 from the building control services of Ryedale and Selby District Councils, NYBCP was created to meet the challenges posed by ‘Best Value’ and emerging private sector competition. The partnership was joined in 2007 by Hambleton DC, in 2008 by Scarborough BC with Richmondshire DC joining in April 2010.
The NYBCP services an area greater than 2,000 square miles with a population approaching 400,000. The partnership last year processed 35,300 building control applications, including Competent Persons Notifications, 86 Dangerous Structures and 18,481 site inspections.
