SHRC commissions annual research to identify and gather details about local voluntary, community and advocacy groups in Scotland which promote the rights of those sections of society who are not adequately protected.
In order to add value to this research and to enable its ongoing updates, SHRC commissioned Idox to help it develop a database of organisations which help, campaign or support people in all parts of the country.
Idox was commissioned by the Irish Universities Association and the Irish inward investment agency, InterTradeIreland (the Irish body designed to support cross-border inward investment) to develop www.expertiseireland.com, a flagship national project to facilitate access to the knowledge and skills within academic institutions and Institutes of Technology across Ireland.
In 2009, Idox Information Solutions was commissioned by the Office for Civil Society to design and develop the Government’s flagship third sector funding web portal.
In September 2008, Idox Information Solutions was contracted by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) to design and develop its regional online innovation portal – www.eminnovation.org.uk.
The website acts as a one-stopshop for information about available support and research expertise available to help individuals commercialise their ideas into successful businesses.
Idox Information Solutions was contracted by the Skills Funding Agency to design and develop its Funding Directory which was presented both on its Careers Advice and Advice Resources online channels. The aim of the development was to provide adults in training and education with comprehensive information about available funding opportunities to support their learning activities.
Idox was commissioned by Creative and Cultural Skills, the Sector Skills Council for the creative and cultural industries to develop its new Data Generator web portal design to provide practitioners and policy makers with access to sector-based statistical information and research.
In 2008 OffPAT commissioned Idox to build, populate and manage a searchable collection of evaluation reports to improve the spread of lessons about what works around the RDAs and so boost the evidence base for decision-making.
In February 2010, Idox Information Solutions was commissioned by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) to help improve access to employment and skills research and policy information. The project involved design of a taxonomy and thesaurus to classify an archive of existing content which was then made available on a new online microsite.
In 2011 Idox Information Solutions was awarded a new three-year contract to maintain and develop Research Online, Scotland's labour market intelligence hub - http://www.researchonline.org.uk.
The portal acts as a single authoritative source of labour market research and analysis relevant to Scotland.
