Idox delivers a successful 2012 election for Progress

Idox Group (Idox) successfully implemented its Internet Voting service to deliver Progress' 2012 Strategy Board's election.
With 23 years' experience, Idox presented the absolute electoral solution to create and manage a cost-effective, robust, yet flexible process that enabled Progress to increase engagement with members and to make the experience of voting more adaptable and enjoyable.
With less than two months to install the new electronic electoral system, a dedicated Idox project manager commenced the process. Progress' members were offered the options to vote either online or via the traditional postal pack, whilst details of those who chose to opt in or out of Internet Voting were updated on Progress' database. In return, Idox sent a unique voter identification number to participants.
Idox also created an Election Engagement Portal. The portal offered members a forum to post questions directly to candidates and to obtain responses to help inform their decision-making. Commenting on the election process, Matthew Faulding, Political Liaison and Membership Officer for Progress said: "We're really happy with the service the Idox provided. We had a dedicated project manager that helped to ensure that our election was delivered in the best way possible and that we made the most of our engagement with our membership election.
By opting for Idox's Internet Voting software, we were able to conduct our election at a fraction of the cost of a traditional postal ballot election, whilst at the same time getting a better turn out than many such elections."
Siobhan Donaghy, Head of Products for Idox Elections further commented: "We're delighted with the outcome and we're very encouraged with the increased participation. Idox's Internet Voting solution offers multiple channels to cast votes and improve accessibility to complement electors' busy lifestyles.
"Our voting solution offered Progress 80% cost-savings on election administration in comparison to traditional postal voting. Online voting is a natural move away from traditional paper based systems and Idox is very well equipped to provide end-to-end election solutions".
