East Hampshire District Council leaps into the cloud with Idox

East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) has become the first council to embrace Idox’s innovative new cloud-based gazetteer management system (GMS) for the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) and Local Street Gazetteer (LSG), iManage Cloud.

iManage Cloud has allowed the Council to forge ahead with its digital transformation by enabling the efficient creation and management of the LLPG. What’s more, the platform also integrates seamlessly with Idox Cloud, EHDC’s chosen solution to replace its desktop legacy system for managing Regulatory Services, Land Charges and Public Protection.

Painless migration

EHDC is, by definition, an early adopter – it is the first council to fully migrate its LLPG to iManage Cloud. Its experience of our onboarding process was efficient and smooth, as we delivered the new solution both time-effectively and painlessly.

”The migration to iManage Cloud was quick, easy and painless. Our dedicated Idox consultant was on hand to ensure a smooth implementation with comprehensive training,” commented Peter Silvester, Data and Intelligence Manager, EHDC. ”The solution itself is intuitive and very easy to use, so the team that use it daily are very happy as they now have more time to allocate to other tasks. By having British Standard structured data that’s validated on entry, we know the data will be accepted by the national hub GeoPlace, saving us time and effort.”

The go-live of iManage Cloud was synchronised with that for Idox Cloud Planning, ensuring EHDC experienced minimal disruption to daily business processes. Once Land Charges and Public Protection have migrated to Idox Cloud, the system will be fully dynamic, providing live address updates across all the systems. Until then, EHDC can populate its legacy systems with Change Only Update files easily and quickly.

“Migrating our LLPG and planning systems into the cloud is the first successful step towards our digital transformation. We look forward to the remaining systems joining the cloud, which will help us to deliver excellent services for our residents and businesses efficiently,” said Peter Silvester, Data and Intelligence Manager.

“It’s been great working with EHDC on this first stage of their digital transformation,” reflects Idox Account Manager Paul Mooney, “and we look forward to delivering the final phases, helping the Council to improve efficiency and service delivery.”

While EHDC is already enjoying the benefits of migrating to iManage Cloud and Idox Cloud, the Council looks forward to the next stages of its digital transformation.
